Bennett Hay’s Biggest Fundraiser to Date

The Big Hike

This year marks a significant milestone for Bennett Hay. Fifteen years since founders Anthony Bennett and Robin Hay set out with a clear ambition to do things differently. To create a more personal, client centric and values led approach to workplace hospitality and guest services. An approach grounded in relationships, care and a genuine belief that people come first.

As we reflect on that journey, we have spent time looking at what truly defines Bennett Hay. Our clients sit at the heart of everything we do. Our colleagues shape our culture. And our sustainability strategy, Growing for Good, is not a separate initiative but is woven into our values of personal, adventurous, and people-first, the basis of how we grow as a business.

To mark our fifteenth anniversary in a way that feels authentic to who we are, we wanted to create something that brings all this together. The result is The Big Hike, our most ambitious fundraising initiative to date.

The Big Hike is a shared challenge that demonstrates our inclusive culture. All colleagues, along with their family and friends, are encouraged to participate by walking, cycling, or running between our Bennett Hay sites. Participation varies for everyone, and a variety of routes are available, so whether someone opts for a one-mile walk or a ninety-mile bike ride, they can join in in a way that suits them.

The Big Hike also brings our Growing for Good commitments to life. Sustainability at Bennett Hay focuses on making a positive impact. On people, communities, and the industry, we are proud to be part of. Through this fundraiser, our aim is to raise at least £15,000 in celebration of our fifteen-year anniversary, supporting three charity partners that closely align with our values.

Our Three Charity Partners

Arts For All offers structured weekly art sessions for people of all ages from diverse cultures and backgrounds, including those with special needs. Based in one of the most deprived areas in the UK, their centre supports families who often face unemployment and limited access to creative opportunities. Their work fosters confidence, connection, and expression through art.

Drive Forward Foundation assists young people transitioning from the care system into stable and meaningful careers. Through coaching, mentoring, employability training, and in-work support, they help eliminate barriers faced by care leavers. They also work closely with businesses to create genuine job opportunities and advocate for long-term systemic change.

Hospitality Action supports those working in, or retired from, the hospitality industry who face financial, emotional, or personal hardship. From grants and practical advice to mental health support and a twenty-four-hour helpline, their work provides a vital safety net for an industry dedicated to caring for others.

Growing for Good in Action

The Big Hike embodies our belief that business can be human, ambitious, and responsible all at once. That when people unite around shared values, the impact extends well beyond a single day or challenge. We are immensely proud of our teams, our clients, and everyone supporting The Big Hike. This is what Growing for Good looks like in action.
